Back to Dance

Miss Angie and I are eager to start a new year with you, and we’d like to highlight a few of the joys, changes, and challenges this new season brings...

First off, we are excited to introduce Jazz for the first time! Miss Angie will be teaching this faster-paced style for students ages seven and above. Besides our usual ballet/ tap combo class for younger students, we are also starting a Beginning Tap class on a brand new floor for the Blue room!

In fact, new flooring has been added in both rooms. The Blue room will now have a vinyl- topped interlocking floor which will provide a smooth surface for ballet and the right sound for our Tap students. The Orange room now has high density foam under all its flooring to protect our dancer’s joints. This was quite an investment for our studio, but one we felt necessary for the protection of our students. Dance apparel bought at our dance store is donated directly toward the flooring. Please support us by buying from the store or donating any gently used shoes or apparel. This upfront cost has also required us to make changes in our billing policies. The first two months are due at the first class by the first class of the month. Due to delinquencies last year, we do remind parents that late payments will incur a $15 dollar late fee.

Throughout the year our students will have more chances to perform. Instead of one mid- year performance, we will be doing two showcases on the Green room’s stage on the day of your student’s class. Fall Showcase in October and Christmas Showcase in December will highlight the students’ progress. We are especially excited for our first ever “Winter Ball”, a free community wide event. The dance season will end with our Spring Performance on April 26th.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! We crave your patience as we step out into these new ideas. Lastly, as always, please keep us in your prayers.

Meet the Staff

Our newest member of staff this year is Miss Chloe Callender who will be joining us our secretary. Miss Chloe started private lessons with Miss Angie Dickinson in 2015, and has found a passion for ballet. She attends regular classes at HLB, and enjoys teaching theatre and working at the Jackson Meijer Branch Library when she isn't dancing.
